Jilin Provincial Siberian Tiger Park is situated in Jingyuetan National Forest Park, which is to the southeast of the downtown area of the city of Changchun and 4.5 kilometers from Changchun along Chang-Shuang Highway. The main entrance gate is opposite to Movie Wonderland of Changchun Movie Studio. The total investment is RMB 35 million. Construction began in August 2004 and was finished in September 2006. The Park is the first ecological safari park characterized by scatter-raising of animals in Changchun Municipality.
The Park covers an area of 50 ha. Building area for animal houses totals 2,200m 2 and activity scope of the animals totals 67 thousand sq. meters. The entire Park is divided into six functional areas, namely, Conservation & Education Area, Rescue and Breeding Area, Interactive Animal Performing Area, Bus-ride Safari Area, Pedestrian Safari Area and Birds' Paradise which provide habitats for Siberian tigers, African lions, bears, Sika deer, mouflons, red-crested cranes and pelicans and other rare or endangered animals. The Park has a collection of more than 60 animal species which number over 2000 individuals.

Advantaged natural ecological scenery: The Park site is located in the center of a scenic resort which is endowed with fine scenery and streams and hills. The Park, with her range upon range of hills, tiger-inhabited forest, singing birds, will present tourists with access to the nature and wilderness, pleasing both their eyes and mind.
Unique performance of skills of trained animals and characteristic tourist-participating and interactive programs: Tourists will marvel at the new, unique and fancy animal performance, in which the Grand Animal Parade is particularly rare. When you enter Beasts of Prey Area, you will encounter the powerful beasts and ride past them safe yet exciting. When you see with your own eyes the ferocious preying behavior of the tigers in their natural ecological habitat, you will get some idea of the power of the tigers and the law of the jungle. You can have close-up access to the brown bears and get attracted when chubby and greedy bears rush to lick the honey with salivating mouths.
The Park is also delegated with the tasks of rescuing wild animals in Jilin Province and breeding the endangered species. The Park serves not only as a scientific research base and a conservation & education base, but also as a safari zoo that combines the functions of forest-ecological tourism and animal-viewing, providing tourists with an ideal place to access the nature, wild animals and the primitive ecological environment. |
